Gelli!

I can't remember now where I first heard of it, but a few months ago I was introduced to the Gelli Plate, this foolproof tool for creating amazing monoprints.

I absolutely dread the totally blank page, so when I saw how I could use the Gelli to print on water color paper and start with those sheets for my art journals. . . well, I was sold. A lot of art-making is discovery for me, and there's a lot I could find in those prints. Besides, even if I didn't, they made beautiful pages in their own right.

The image above is probably my absolute favorite so far. I love her lips especially and how the print peaks through her bottom lip.
